Abstract

1300902 Delivering sheets INGENIEURSBUREAU DE RIDDER NV 19 April 1971 [10 April 1970] 26848/71 Heading B8R Sheets, newspapers or the like 2, Figs. 1, 2 and 3, are fed in normally overlapping formation between an upper conveyer belt 8 and a lower belt 1 supported on an inverted channel member 5 and extending beneath a stacking station 3, where a stack 7 is formed against a front stop 6 by feeding the sheets thereto from the bottom. Rollers 11, 12, 13 of the belt 8 are supported on a frame pivoted about a duct roller 9, so that the roller 11 and the belt 8 are pressed by gravity against the sheets and the belt 1. The sides of the sheets rest on guide plates 18 so as to be transversely bent so as to be stiffened. The belt 1 is supported on a roller 17 projecting through an aperture in the member 5. Auxiliary rollers 26 supporting belts 27 force the sides of the sheets against the plates 18. If a gap occurs in the sheet stream, or if the sheets are fed in non-overlapping relationship, the stiffness of the leading end of an unoverlapped sheet is small enough to allow the roller 11 to drop to the position of Fig. 1, so that the sheet follows a curved path 25 below the stack and does not abut the edge of the preceding sheet.
