Abstract

1389606 Comminuting cellulose sheets PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 22 Sept 1972 [22 Sept 1971] 44016/72 Heading B2A Cellulose fibrous sheets 12 are disintegrated by being fed into a slotted opening 19 including a sheet support 19a located at a distance of .023 to .035 in from and impacted by teeth 23 of a rotor, the tips 24 of which move at a velocity of at least 6000 feet per minute. Feed is at a rate of 30-100 feet per minute by rollers 14, 15. Air is blown into the disintegrator via one or more openings 21, 21a to facilitate discharge via an outlet 20.
