Abstract
1428572 Diaper T TANIGUCHI 5 May 1973 21484/73 Heading A3V [Also in Division A5] A diaper comprises a hydrophobic net cloth 50 underlaid by a cloth pad 40 of high moisture absorbent material with a cover 10 of waterproof, gas permeable material. The cover is made from synthetic yarn such as wooly nylon, either woven or knitted and treated with a waterproofing agent such as organosilicon polymer or silicone resin. Pad 40 is preferably made of hydrophyllic fibre e.g. cotton and may be woven or knitted into a figured double cloth with colour effects obtained by random combinations of double and single knittings on Jacquard machines. Net 50 may be knitted from polyvinyl chloride yarns or nylon tricot having plurality of apertures. Filamentary yarns as alternative to staple fibre yarns may be used. The cover 10 is T shaped with an edge cloth 15 attached. Fastening elements 18, 19 engaging similar elements 16, 17 when the diaper is worn may be of the kind sold under the Trade Mark VELCRO. Connecting bands and buckles 23, 22, 21, 20, and soft cloth members 24, 25 are provided. A stretchable member in a sheath 26 may be provided and side members 29, 30 of the same material as the cover 10 may be sewn to the edges thereof while stretched.
