Abstract

1439888 Lead base alloy GOULD Inc 18 Sept 1974 [3 Oct 1973] 40610/74 Heading C7A [Also in Division H1] A cast lead-base alloy containing 0À06-0À1% Ca 0À1 -0À4% Sn Balance Pb and impurities is suitable for the manufacture of grids for lead-acid batteries or storage cells or sealed, maintenance-free cells. The presence of a maximum of 0À4% Su lowers the dross formation at temperatures up to 800‹F and improves the active material retention characteristics of the cast grid by resisting corrosive degradation.
