1442547 Apparatus for treating waste water ISHIGAKI KIKO CO Ltd and I YOKOTA 24 April 1974 17947/74 Heading C1C An apparatus for treating waste water comprises at least one treating tank having an inlet for waste water, an outlet for treated water, at least one bundle of tubes arranged in the treating tank so that the bundle is submerged when waste water is treated in the tank, the tubes being in communication with one another through a plurality of openings arranged along the bundle at spaced intervals so that substantially no Poiseuille flow occurs in any of the tubes on flowing waste water therethrough, and means for flowing waste water through the tubes of the bundle. Aerobic micro-organisms may be present on the bundle of tubes, and the sludge formed may be removed by scraping or by air-jetting or blowing with another fluid. The waste water used may be sewage.
