Abstract

The ethers are produced by reacting tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol with an alkali hydroxide or alkaline earth oxide to produce an alkali or alkaline earth alkoxide salt, and reacting the alkoxide salt so produced with an alkyl halide, with the alkyl having 1-4 carbons, to produce the alkyl tetrahydrofurfuryl ether.
