Abstract

245,958. Evans, A. B. Feb. 20, 1925. Rotary offset machines.-A multi-colour rotary offset printing-machine of the kind described in Specification 6246/08, in which an impression cylinder u coacts with two or more offset surfaces h, i receiving designs from printing-plates b, c, is constructed as an under-fed machine by arranging the cylinder u in such a manner that the plane containing the axes of the cylinders u, g is inclined to the vertical. The sheets are fed from a table r to grippers on a rocking shaft t and are, transferred to grippers u<1> on the cylinder u, and after nearly two revolutions of the cylinder u are taken, with the printed side outwards, by grippers v on chains w so that the printed side of the sheet is not brought into contact with any part of the machine. Specifications 8107/14, [Class 100 (i), Feeding and delivering webs &c.], and 179,637 also are referred to.
