Abstract
A garbage bin houses a secure pest control station, comprising a rodent poison bait station 9, and/or a humane rodent trap, and an insect trap, for the control of vermin that are attracted to the bin in their search for food and water. The vermin control compartment may be integral within the construction, or may be detachable. The bin may comprise a waste compartment 4, with a false floor bottom 5, a compartment 6 to which is attached a removable access panel assembly 15. The access panel assembly may be attached to any of the sides of the bin and may have a magnetic closure, to close the rodent entrance hole on emptying the contents of the bin. The entrance hole may have a ribbed plastic tube to offer entry to rodents but not children's hands, pets or birds. The bin and assembly may be manufactured of plastic.
Description
Multipurpose Garbage Bin
Background of Invention
The present invention relates to a multipurpose garbage bin incorporating integral rodent bait stations assemble, and insect control.
The presence of rodents in many locations is not to be welcome, and in locations such as the domestic household, food preparation areas or dispensing food establishments, the presence of such as rats and mice must be controlled so far as is possible.
The widely use of plastic bags for garbage bins use is a major expansion of the explosion in rats and mice as well as other rodents, within towns and cities.
Rats, mice, and other rodents attract to garbage bins, water butts, etc., when food is in short supply, especially in the cold winter months, dry spells, or drought.
Blowflies and maggots are a major nuisance in hot humid weather attracted by the smells of the garbage bins.
The control of rats and mice such as by poisoning as long been practised, and there are numerous forms of bait stations in prior art to hold an effective poison such that it is readily accessible by such as rats but not easily accessed by humans.
The majority of these bait stations are secure individual boxes and placed where there is infestations of rodents, normally externally from a garbage bin or near to. Not all are secure from spillage of the contents and are at risk to wildlife, pets, free-range domestic fowl, and humans. The rodent poisons currently in use come in blocks, sachets, powder, liquids, or granular form.
Summary of Invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a multipurpose garbage bin free from poison spillage, integral within the body of the bin, a secure compartment that houses an access panel assemble, which provides a platform for a secure poison bate station, a rodent trap, an insect trap situated below the false bottom of the garbage collection area. Whilst overcoming the above noted disadvantages of currently manufactured garbage bins.
A first aspect of this invention is that the multipurpose garbage bin has many discreet purposes, a repository for food, liquid, waste products, and an integral within secure rodent bait station, free from poison bait spillage to control rodent vermin and insect pests in a secure way.
It will be appreciated that the term "multipurpose garbage bin" used herein refers to; wheelie bins, dust bins, pedal bins, rubbish bins, trash bins, game feeders bins, offal skips, garbage skips, compost bins, water butts, and other known containers where food, liquids, and grain is stored whether stored fresh or ready for disposal, that have an attraction to rodents.
It will be appreciated that the term Rodents" used herein refers to; rats, mice, squirrels, and others known species for invading garbage bins, to obtain food classWied as vermin or pests.
It will be appreciated that the term "insect pests used herein refers to blowflies, flies, wasps, and other known insects that are classed as pests, that frequent garbage bins.
In an embodiment of the invention provides a detachable access panel assembly with a rodent entrance hole, attached to the side of the compartment, situated below the false bottom of a multipurpose garbage bin with a facility to attach and dismount a poison bait station held securely within the lockable compartment. An integral part of the multipurpose garbage bins body.
In an embodiment of the invention, the detachable access panel assembly integrally situated in the front, side or back of the multipurpose garbage bins body, dependant on how the bin is empted of contents.
The poison bait box is placed internally within the multipurpose garbage bins compartment, situated under the false bottom of the garbage collection area.
Preferably, a poisoning bait box is placed on the access panel assembly, attached to the multipurpose garbage bins body held securely in place, with the option of being dismounted.
The secure bait station controls the rodent's population that have entered the multipurpose garbage bin, by the attraction of the garbage waste foods that are within the garbage bin after consuming the poison bait from the poison bait box.
In an embodiment of the invention, which has ground clearance wheels the bait station is attached and detached, when the access panel assemble is locked into the multipurpose garbage bins body.
Providing the bait station in the sealed compartment, allows the bait station to be removed for refilling and replaced securely and locked into place by known means, In an embodiment of the invention, the multipurpose garbage bin is used to store food, grain, waste, animal feeds, access panel assemble and a poison bait station.
In an embodiment of the invention, the multipurpose garbage bin is used to deposit garbage and waste materials.
It will be appreciated that the term "Garbage "used herein refers to waste food products, food packaging, medical waste products, animal offal, liquids, and other known substances that is likely to attract rodents.
In an embodiment of the invention, the multipurpose garbage bin is used to control rodents.
The multipurpose garbage bin to be manufactured with any known materials.
Preferably, manufactured with known moulded plastics methods.
In an embodiment of the invention, the rodent entrance hole into the compartment of the multipurpose garbage bin has two pivoted magnetic closures that operate by gravity and magnetic attraction.
By way of a circular steel plates and a disc magnets situated at the bottom left and right sides of the entrance hole. This will retain the poison bait within the compartment, when lifting and tipping left or right to emptying out the contents of the bin. It will be appreciated that the mode of tipping the waste requires the correct side of the bin for the installation of the access panel assemble.
The circular steel plates are reset by hand after tipping the contents enabling the rodent entrance hole to be clear.
Other known means of rodent entrance hole closures can be incorporate.
Preferable, the pivoted gravitating magnetic disc closure method.
In an embodiment of the invention the poison bait stations rodents entrance hole is fitted with a ribbed plastic tube inside the multipurpose garbage bins compartment, which elevates into the poison bait box, to protect from children's hands trying to enter the bait box, also protects pets, wild and domestic bird entry.
Other known safety protecting methods can be incorporated.
Preferably, a ribbed plastic tube method.
In an embodiment of the invention, the multipurpose garbage bin, access panel assembly attachment is locked into place by known secure means.
Preferably, tamper proof fixings In an embodiment of the invention, a fixed and secure rodent trap is installed within the access panel assemble of the multipurpose garbage bin.
Preferably a known humane trap In an embodiment of the invention, a fixed and secure flytrap is installed within the access panel assemble of the multipurpose garbage bin.
Preferably, a fly pepper trap.
It will be appreciated that the optional features discussed in relation to any aspects of the invention may apply to all aspects of the invention.
Before explaining the present invention in detail, it is to be under stood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and arrangement of parts illustrated in the accompanying drawings, since the invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced out in various ways.
In addition, it is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed is for the
description and not limitation.
