Abstract
258,356. Galley, G. T., and Chamberlain, E. W. June 19, 1925. Signs ; letters, numerals, and the like; looseletter and like signs.-A sign comprises a display screen formed of a number of overlapping opaque slats 1 which conceal a source of light at the rear of the screen but are illuminated bv that source by reflection from the backs of the slats. The slats may carry fixed or removable letters &c. 6, Fig. 2, or may be faced with a stencil 14, Fig. 4, or a transparency, &c., or may form the front face of a trough letter &c., Fig. 7. The slats may be attached to the back of the stencil plate &c. or be permanently or removably mounted on a frame 5. A box 3 may have a slat screen on one or two sides, and may contain a light source 4 surrounded by a convection-current-operated drum 9, Fig. 2.
