Closure members, multiple beat lift; seats.-In coaxial exhaust and inlet valves 8, 9, Fig. 1, for internalcombustion engines and other purposes the exhaust valve has a conical setting at 10 and also works as a piston valve over the exhaust ports 12, and the inlet valve seats on the exhaust valve. In a modification, Fig. 3, the exhaust valve 8 is formed with a series of stepped seatings 44.
