Abstract
346,107. Pile fabrics. GIRMES & CO. AKT.-GES., J., Muhlhauserstrasse, Oedt, near Krefeld, Germany. Feb. 24, 1930, No. 6059. Convention date, Jan. 31. [Class 142 (iv).] Pile fabrics with tufts of unequal lengths to imitate animal skins are woven in double plush looms by using fluctuating pile threads f crossing from one web to the other, .these threads being bound firmly in the webs by several wefts e<1>, e<2> at parts g<1>, g<2> and floating at f to other parts h<1>, h<2> where they are bound in by single wefts. After the webs are cut apart, the floating parts are drawn out of the webs where they are bound by single picks thus forming long tufts f<1>. The threads f are more numerous than and consist of different material from the ordinary crossing pile threads a which are used for forming short tufts a<1>. To facilitate drawing out the floats, blind shots may be introduced under the parts f The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a modification shown in Figs. 5 (Cancelled) and 6 (Cancelled) where in the threads f only float behind the parts g<1>, g<2>, so that after cutting the fabrics apart, both long tufts f<2> and short tufts f<3> are formed. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
