Abstract
370,271. Inductances. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. June 30, 1931, No. 18879. Convention date, July 30, 1930. [Class 37.] In an arrangement for loading a quad by the three coil system, crosstalk is eliminated by electrostatically screening the coils, and positioning them so that their stray magnetic fields neutralize one another. The phantom coil is placed between the two side circuit coils, all three coils being surrounded by metal foil 6 and supported in a troughshaped container 1 by corrugated cardboard 5: The coil arrangement elimniates cross-talk from side circuit to side circuit, and cross-talk from side circuit to phantom can be eliminated by rotation of the side circuit coils. The supply wires are suitably twisted together to reduce residual capacitative coupling, and are covered by filling material which partially fills the container before adjustments are made, so that on completely filling the container no changes in capacity occur. Coils of normally unsuitable electrical values may be used, since corrections for them can be made during the adjustment.
