Abstract
392,284. Lamps combined with mirrors. BODENHAM, F. L., 11, Scalford Drive, Wollaton Park, Nottingham. Jan. 18, 1932, No. 1421. [Class 75 (iii).] In a combined lamp and mirror in which light from a lamp D disposed at the back of the mirror A is reflected through one or more openings at the margin of the mirror, each reflector is composed of a glass or other transparent member B of triangular cross section and has one angle B<1> disposed adjacent the edge of the mirror and the side B<2>, which subtends this angle and constitutes the reflecting surface, disposed approximately at right angles to the plane of the mirror. The sides B<2> may be silvered or backed by a reflecting surface, which may be formed by the interior surface of the casing C. In the case of an oval or circular mirror, a single annular reflector is employed. The reflectors may be adapted to diffuse the light or an opal or frosted glass screen or lamp bulb may be provided. The Provisional Specification describes also constructions in which the reflectors consist of metal or glass strips and the application to hand mirrors.
