Abstract
399,334. Heating water. KEMP, J. W., 150, Commercial Road, Newport, Monmouthshire. Nov. 15, 1932, No. 32322. [Class 64 (i).] A water-heating boiler or kettle is provided with one or more flat supplementary waterchambers 1 made by securing together two substantially circular metal sheets, which contact at their centres to form an annular water space, and the walls of which are formed with circular ridges 2. A chamber communicates with the bottom of a boiler 5, Fig. 1, by pipes 7, 8. A number of chambers arranged in the combustion space 17, Fig. 3, of an internally-fired boiler open into the lower part of the boiler, the water flowing upwardly through the chambers entering the boiler above the combustion chamber or flowing directly to the outlet pipe. A hood 29 with a cylindrical extension 30 around the uptake baffles the upward flow of the water through the boiler.
