Abstract
413,878. Pots for growing plants. BLANCHFORD, H. H., c/o Blanchford Concrete Co., Rohais, Guernsey. Aug. 2, 1933, No. 21732. [Class 6 (ii).] A flower-pot cast from an absorbent concrete aggregate has an integral internal annular flange 2 which supports the compost and leaves a relatively large central opening 4 through which the roots may pass, past the crocking, into the ground above which the flange is supported by a circumferentially continuous wall 3 adapted to exclude light and establish a soil-free region beneath the flange 2. The wall 3 may be of non-porous concrete or may be waterproofed to prevent creeping of water from the ground. The crock 5 employed may be rectangular in plan, of arched form, and dimensioned so that the corners touch the wall of the pot to centralise the crock. Specification 24510/14, [Class 6 (ii)], is referred to.
