[Class 36] To reduce internal and external corona discharges in a bushing insulator comprising a conductor 6 surrounded by an insulating tube 1, the inner surface of the tube is provided with a semi-conducting coating 9 of graphite, carbon or metal oxide which is conductively connected with the conductor 6. An outer metal coating 3 may be applied to the tube 1 in the vicinity of the supporting flange. Specification 309,884, [Class 36], is referred to.
