Abstract
441,358. Waste and overflow fittings for baths &c. COCKBURN & CO., Ltd., M., Gowanbank Iron Works, and LEISHMAN, D., 18, Phillip Street, both in Falkirk. March 20, 1935, No. 8760. [Class 26] In a sink, bath, &c. having below the bottom thereof a drainage chamber 12 having an outlet 14 above which is disposed a removable strainer 22, the outlet is provided with a plug 24 having an operating-stem extending through and movable within the strainer, the latter being so arranged within the chamber as to leave sufficient space to accommodate the plug in the open position. The chamber 12 may have an extension 17 in which the waste-pipe 15 is secured in position by a flange 18 and an external nut 20 ; the extension communicates with the waste-pipe by apertures 29 and also with the overflow. The plug may be supported in its raised position by a bayonet-joint arrangement, and the depth of the chamber 12 is one-and-a-half times that of the strainer. A grating 30 disposed above the apertures 29 is also provided.
