Abstract
448,779. Cables. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London, and WRIGHT, G. M., Broom Hall, Woodham Ferrers, and RUST, N. M., 109, London Road, Chelmsford, both in Essex. Nov. 14, 1934, No. 32790. [Class 36] also Group XL] The Figure shows a flexible low-velocity cable in which the inner conductor comprises a series of helical coils ICC wound on insulating sleeves and separated by beads IBB. The sheath consists of a rubber covering with an outer conductor OCG of metallic gauze. In another form, the conductor may be wound on a paper former of layers of paper tape. The winding is wrapped with paper insulation, a lead sleeve forming the outer covering, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown). Or the central conductor may be straight and the outer conductor of helical form, Fig. 9 (not shown). In another form, the inner conductor is wound on a glass tube spaced concentrically by insulating material at suitable intervals from an external copper tube, Fig. 10 (not shown).
