Abstract
473,239. Fishing reels. GLASER, A. March 17, 1937, Nos. 7844 and 7845. Convention dates, March 17, 1936 and Nov. 25, 1936. [Class 48] In a stationary-drum fishing-reel, the lineguide flyer 9 is rotated around the drum 13 by a driving medium when winding-in, and also in a reverse direction when paying-out or casting, by an excessive pull against the action of the driving medium. The flyer 9 is coupled to the driving disc 6 by a spring 8 adjusted by nut 7. In Fig. 1, the drum 13 is secured by notched eccentric bolt 11 engaging the notched end of spindle 12. The handle 17 is removably connected by a split end housed within a boss 19 on the shaft 20 and engaged by a coned nut 18. In a modification, Fig. 4, the drum 13 is adjustably secured to the spindle 12 by a threaded end 24 engaged by a screwed sleeve 22 and nut 23, the sleeve screwing into the drum. The pin 15 and slot 25 provide the building-up movement of the spindle 12.
