Abstract
475,630. Pipe joints. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. April 19, 1937, No. 11147. Convention date, April 22, 1936. [Class 99 (i)] [Also in Group XI] An electric immersion heater 4 is mounted in an aperture in a tank wall 1 by means comprising a plug 5 secured to the heater, and bolts 16 with eccentric heads 17 projecting through the plug. The heads 17 of the bolts are first turned inwards and the immersion heater 4 and the plug 5 may then be inserted through the aperture in the wall 1. The heads 17 are then turned outwards as shown and nuts 18 on the bolts are tightened up in order to grip the wall 1 between the heads 17 and a shoulder on the plug. A gasket 20 is provided to render the joint watertight.
