Abstract

477,038. Television. PHILCO RADIO & TELEVISION CORPORATION. May 20, 1936, No. 14289. Convention date, June 7, 1935. [Class 40 (iii)] A pulse is formed from an input synchronizing signal of one polarity and controls the building up of a voltage of opposite polarity which is combined with the input and then dissipated. The large positive impulse produced by a blocking oscillator V3 on the return stroke is passed through a resistance R3 and a gas-discharge tube RT to a biassing- circuit R, C in the grid circuit of a valve V1. The charge on the condenser C leaks away sufficiently during the scanning of a line to permit the valve to respond to the synchronizing-signal at the end of the line. Specification 468,505 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the impulse on the return stroke building up a voltage in a circuit R4, C4 which is applied through a valve V5 to a cathode-ray tube CT. In the absence of this voltage the anode current through a resistance R5 gives rise to a bias sufficient to cut off the cathode ray. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
