Abstract

477,512. Ventilating rooms. SPEIDEL, R. June 16, 1937, No. 16759. [Class 137] Apparatus for the uniform distribution of an air or gas current through a room 1, comprises an air inlet pipe 2 leading by ducts 10, 11 to a number of evenly spaced inlets 17 in one wall, and an outlet pipe 3 communicating with evenly spaced louvred outlets 35 by ducts 31, 32. Each inlet duct 11 is controlled by a valve 13, and the air passes through an aperture 14 and is distributed by a perforated curved baffle 18, in front of which is a perforated plate 23, part of the air passing through the perforations in series, and part being deflected laterally by the plate 18. The air passing through the perforations is controlled by a perforated plate 25 secured to the surface of the plate 23, but slidable in relation thereto by movement of a handle 28, a positioning screw 30 being provided. A fan 4 draws fresh air through pipe 8 and used air from duct 3 and forces these through inlets 17, a pipe 6 serving for discharge of used air.
