485,154. Hose couplings. CARPENTER, G., and ELECTRIC HOSE & RUBBER CO., Ltd. Nov. 24, 1937, No. 32344. [Class 99 (i)] A coupling member 1 for a hose 6 is provided with an annular recess 5 to receive the end of the hose, a second recess 8 for a rubber &c. packing ring 9 which is compressed on to the hose by an adjustable sleeve 4 and interposed metal &c. collar 10, and an integral or attached tube or spigot 7. Two or more packing rings 9, with or without a collar 10 between each two, may be used.
