Abstract

499,155. Golf clubs. CASTLE GOLF CO., Ltd., and LANGE, E. R. DE. Nov. 3, 1937, No. 30077. [Class 132 (ii)] A golf club of the type comprising a shaft 5, Fig. 2, secured in the socket 6 of a head and with a sleeve 9 of vulcanite, vulcanized fibre, celluloid or other material fitted on the shaft so that one end abuts and has the same diameter as the end of the socket, is characterized in that the sleeve is gradually or abruptly thickened to a position 12 a desired distance up the shaft and then gradually thinned towards its other end. A modification is shown in Fig. 3. The sleeve may be divided axially and secured by clamping bands.
