Abstract
524,901. Storing and vaporizing liquefied gases. AMERICAN GAS SERVICE CO. Feb. 10, 1939, No. 4417. Convention date, March 5, 1938. [Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIX] A container for liquefied fuel gas contains a layer of the liquid fuel in contact with the wall, which is maintained of a greater area than that covered by the volume of liquid at normal level as the fuel is withdrawn in vapour form. Thus an inner vessel 11 is provided, forming with the main vessel a wall space 14 into which the liquid is forced, through a pipe 22 into a dome space 17 and by overflow from the pipe, under the vapour pressure of the liquid. If the vapour evolved is drawn off through the supply valve 21 too rapidly, the liquid rises in the dome 17 and lifts a float actuating a valve 25 which allows the liquid to flow back into the inner vessel 11.
