Abstract
530,357. Tubular heat exchangers. SERCK RADIATORS, Ltd., and UPTON, H. E. June 22, 1939, No. 18186. [Class 64 (iii)] An oil cooler having cooling-water tubes d extending between tube plates e, f is provided with a byepass tube' with apertures k through which warm oil entering the cooler through a connection g may flow, when the cooler is cold, into the standing oil to reduce its viscosity. The apertures are opened by rotating an inner tube n having apertures corresponding to those in the tube j.
