Abstract

531,182. Air filters. VOKES, C. G. June 28, 1939, No. 18855. [Class 8 (ii)] Filters 10 are protected from flame by the provision in or near their outlets of pleated &c. screens 6 of larger mesh and of non-inflammable material spaced from the main filters. The screens shown are stellate cylinders with inner ends closed by perforated plates 9 and flared outer ends secured to plates or spiders 7. In a modification, a transverse long zig-zag screen in a sliding panel is provided extending in front of the filter mouths. The filters shown are of bellows form and may be cleaned by bellows action by hand. Specifications 329,099, [Class 8 (ii)], and 502,476 are referred to.
