532,346. Gas fires. PARKINSON STOVE CO., Ltd., and ATHILL, L. C. H. Aug. 5, 1939, No. 22745. [Class 126] The burners of a gas fire discharge centrally into elongated staggered openings h in a refractory block d below a refractory grid carrying refractory masses n, the block having its upper surface inclined at from 30 degrees to 60 degrees to the horizontal and the top of each opening being wholly out of vertical alignment with the bottom. The openings h are of greater dimensions at the top than the bottom in a direction at right angles to the front edge of the block. The block is mounted in a support e which is adjustable by screws f in a metal frame a by which the burners are carried. The frame a rests on a back plate b and adjustable front studs c.
