Abstract

532,958. Dye intermediates. MLTRRAY, H. D. Aug. 3, 1939, No. 22528. [Class 2 (iii)] [Also in Group XX] 1 - Amino - 2:5 - dietlxoxy - 4 - - furoylaminobenzene is prepared by reacting furoyl chloride and 2:5-diethoxy aniline in the presence of caustic potash to give 2:5-diethoxy-4-furoylaminobenzene, and nitrating and reducing this. 1- Amino-2:5 - - diethoxy - 4 - (#-bromo - furoylamino )- benzene is similarly prepared from the acid chloride of #-bromofuroic acid. The acid chlorides from the α-carboxylic acids of thiophenes and pyrroles may be similarly employed. The diethoxy aniline may be replaced by other substituted anilines or by aniline itself.
