Abstract
549,057. Transformers. GLENN, G. G. May 2, 1941, No. 5755. [Class 38 (ii)] A welding transformer has a magnetic shunt 8 slidable in a gap in the main core 4 so as to produce a variable gap in the shunt circuit whilst at all times completing the main magnetic circuit. An auxiliary winding 10 connected, if desired through a reversing switch 12, in series with either the primary P or the secondary S may be provided on or adjacent to the magnetic shunt. The main core may comprise two pivotally-connected sections drawn into close contact with the magnetic shunt by spring- washered bolts, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown).
