549,614. Relaxation oscillators. TRIGGS, W. W. (Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, & Cie). June 4, 1941, No. 7080. Addition to 548,396. [Class 40 (v)] The condenser relaxation circuit for converting a variable direct voltage into a frequency proportional thereto as described in the parent Specification is modified by using a single valve both to amplify the direct voltage and to amplify the tripping impulse to discharge the condenser through a gas-filled valve. The direct voltage Vx is applied to the grid of the double-function valve 3, so as to vary the rate at which a condenser 2 is charged, from a source 5 through the valve. At the appropriate moment, determined as in the parent case by the elements 6 ... 10, an impulse passes through the transformer 11 to the grid of the valve 3, being excluded from the source Vx by a filter 12, 13. An amplified pulse appearing across the coil 14 in the anode circuit is applied to the grid of the gas-filled valve 1 to discharge the condenser 2. The discharge frequency of the condenser 2 is thus dependent on the variable direct voltage Vx.
