Abstract

553,184. Discharge lamps. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 28, 1941, No. 15339. Convention date, Nov. 30, 1940. [Class 39 (i)] Auxiliary starting electrodes 16 are formed by extensions of the leading-in wires 13, 14 to which the coiled filamentary cathode 15 is clamped by opposed hooks 22. They lie parallel to and in the same plane as the cathode and two such assemblies are mounted one at each end of a lamp envelope which is coated internally with fluorescent material. Specification 533,451 is referred to.
