Abstract

565,646. Vehicle wheels. ELLIOTT, H. W. Nov. 27, 1942, No. 16876. [Class 144 (i)] The rim 1 of an agricultural vehicle wheel adapted to run on hard roads is fitted with chevron-shaped metal angle plates 3, 4 extending laterally beyond the rim to bite into soft ground, and with rubber, hardwood or other blocks 6 clamped between the angle plates and standing proud of them to form tread surfaces. The plate 4 has a wide base flange 5 underlying that of the plate 3, and the plates are secured by radial bolts 8 to the rim, the blocks being secured by bolts 7.
