Abstract
575,183. Commutators for dynamoelectric machines. DANEK, J., and TUDDENHAM, J. March 1, 1944, No. 3869. [Class 35] A commutator is made by embedding the segments in insulation by a moulding process, the surface subsequently being machined to reduce the insulation and the metal to provide a flush surface. In the form shown, the segments are in the form of rods 2 completely embedded in moulded insulation which is then cut away, except at the commutator ends, together with the outer halves of the rods leaving segments of semicircular cross-section flush with the insulation 1.
