Abstract

589,062. Ash-trays. LARNER, D. H. Nov. 7, 1944, No. 21835. [Class 130] A smoker's ash-tray comprising a member 16, displaceable by a knob 27, against a spring 28, to allow cigarette ash &c. to pass under a cowl 14 extending from a base 10 has a cigarette rest arranged so that a cigarette end falling over the edge will drop into the channel 15 formed by the cowl 14. The knob 27 is mounted on a spindle 21 having a plunger 22 guided in a tubular member 19 and a rubber or other sealing ring 13 is fitted between the cowl 14 and a flange on the base so that the knob and its attachments may be removed as a whole from the base. The cigarette rest comprises tapered annular rings 34, formed by slotting a plate. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 257,326, [Class 130], and 576,678.
