589,508. Constructional toys. WARDLE ALLOYS. Ltd., and DINERMAN, A. W. March 22, 1945, No. 7271. [Class 132 (iii)]. A toy building outfit comprises elongated members 1 which are adapted to form pillars or beams and which are each provided with two or more longitudinal slots 8, 9, 10 and 11, panels of sheet material 2, the marginal portion of which may enter said longitudinal slots, and hook-like anchoring members 14, 15, 16, or 21, 22, 23, whose shorter arm 15 or 23 is adapted toenter a longitudinal groove such as 10, whose connecting portion such as 16 is adapted to lie against the face of the beam, and whose longer arm such as 14 is adapted to enter apertures 12 and 13 or whose longer arm 21 is provided with a pair of notches 22 for engagement with notches 20 of the panel. The panels may be formed from sheet aluminium or light alloy metal and the pillars and beams of wood. Toy buildings such as houses may be constructed of these elements and since the pitched roof can be built from beams and panels in exactly the same way as the walls, the size of the building can be varied as desired instead of being limited as is the case when the roof is provided as a preformed unit, as in the usual building outfit.
