[Class 120 (i)] In order to limit the area of inter-action anc thereby better to contro the action of the co operating rollers of a carding-engine covers or shrouds are adjust ably arranged in advance of, but close to the line of working contact of the rollers A shroud element 2 adjustable in brackets 17 (one only shown) is arranged to affect the path of travel of fibres between a worker roller 3 and a stripper roller 15. In addition to the worker/stripper shroud, shrouds may also be arranged in advance of the contact line of the worker and swift and doffer and swift. In order to increase the effective area of the shroud, a supplementary shroud may be adjustably secured thereto.
