Abstract

Luminescent magnesium tungstate is produced by heating an intimate mixture of magnesium oxide and ammonium tungstate. Mixing is preferably carried out with water followed by drying. Proportions to yield a 2MgO.1WO3 product are preferred. Drying may be at 500 DEG F. and heating successively at 1,000-1,050 DEG C. and 1,100-1,150 DEG C. with crushing between the three stages.
