Abstract
614,285. Strainers for teapots. WALLER, W. M., and WALLER, P. H. July 11, 1946. No. 20706. [Class 129] [Also in Group I] A strainer for the spout of a tea or coffee pot has an elastic top for gripping the inside of the spout. Attached to the top, or integral therewith, is a conical strainer 2 formed of wire mesh, silk or perforated material which may overlap at the edges, or closely coiled wire as described in Specification 614,287. Plastic materials may also be used. The top may have a hook 5 to engage over the edge of the spout. The straining material may be secured by lugs to the top, which has slots 10, or rods forming stays to the material, may grip the top elastically or otherwise be secured thereto. The top may have gaps 9 to give it elasticity. Specification 498,004 is referred to.
