Abstract
617,020. Controllers; actuation of switches. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 3, 1946, No. 29558. Convention date, Oct. 3, 1945. [Classes 38 (iii) and 38 (v)] The handle 12 of a rotary switch is hinged at 14 to the shaft 7 and is freely movable counter-clockwise from the " off " position to one " on " position, but may only be moved clockwise to the other " on " position after depression against a spring 15. Semi-circular walls 10, 11 surround the shaft 7, the higher wall 11 acting a stop either to prevent clockwise rotation of an extension 16 of the handle or, when the handle is depressed, counter-clockwise rotation of the handle itself. Projections 19, 20 at the ends of the wall 11 ensure a pause when moving the handle between two " on " positions. Locking holes 23 are provided in the handle and in the walls 10, 11.
