Abstract
619,193. Condensers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., FEARON, J. H., STRAY, W. J., and METCALF, J. C. Nov. 26, 1946, No. 35031. [Class 37] A number of condensers 6 and 7, each comprising one or more conductivelycoated laminµ, are held in stack formation between intervening insulating plates 10 and 11 by wires 13 passing through and soldered to metal eyelets 14 at the edge of each plate. Each plate has two looped conductors 12, adapted to be electrically connected to the adjacent condenser, and also an aperture 15 to permit the capacity of this condenser to be adjusted during assembly. The stack may be coated with polystyrene or a similar water-resistant material, or it may be impregnated with a waxy material such as paraffin wax. The wire 13 is preferably of a material possessing a low temperature coefficient, such as nickel iron alloy containing approximately 35 per cent nickel.
