Abstract

620,263. Clips. BARCLAY, J. B., and MERSEY INSULATION CO., Ltd. Jan. 14, 1947, No. 1185. Addition to 606,082. [Class 44] [Also in Groups X, XIII and XIV] The clip bracket of the parent Specification, for supporting insulation 23 from the girders 28 of cold storage rooms particularly on board ship, is modified in that the two gripping jaws 25, 26 loosely pivoted together by a tongue on one engaging a slot on the other each have a channelled edge 31, the channels facing outwardly and being engaged by a slidable tubular box member 27 slotted at 32 to hold the jaws on to the girder. A tongue 29 on the jaw 26 engages a slot in the other jaw, and after the box 27 has been slid into position the jaws are tightened by a bolt 34 passing transversely of the box. Within the box is fixed a nut 35 covered with insulating material enclosed in a metal cap 37 over an aperture 38 in the box. The insulation 23 is held by bolts 39 taking into the nuts 35. The jaws 25, 26 are shaped to engage various types of girders. The space behind the insulating panels 23 is filled with insulating material.
