Abstract

The flat or cylindrical surface of chocolate articles is decorated with a high relief design which is then passed in contact with a roller carrying a thin layer of coating material to coat the top of the relief design with a different colour or material. Alternatively, the coating roller may be rolled over the stationary design. If a thicker coating is used, the relief design may penetrate it and so become coated to its full depth.
