Abstract
676,120. Buckles. LUTERSZ, T. A. Jan. 17, 1950, No. 1154/50. Class 43. A buckle comprises a main frame 2 engaged by two sliding frames 4, 8, the inner transverse edges of each slide being serrated at A and B, and the arrangement being such that the strap ends, held within the slides, are pulled in opposite directions to tighten the straps. The teeth A on the edges remote from the centre of the buckle are bent downwards, the teeth B on the other edges being bent upwards. The slides 4, 8 are guided in channels 2A, 2B formed by bending over the edges of the main frame, which may either be curved, or be flat and provided with end stops to prevent escape of the slides. In use the strap ends are passed through the slides from the back of the buckle and are pulled in opposite directions to draw the slides towards the ends of the main frame, the straps then being held against the inner edges of the main frame by the teeth B. In a modification the edges of the slides are bent round the edges of the main frame to slide thereon.
