Class 64(3) A heat exchanger such as an economizer comprises a single vertical or nearly vertical row of horizontal tubes interconnected by bends a such as to form a plurality of coils which may for example be connected together in parallel, the bends . being cranked or off-set (see Fig. 2) to provide clearance between portions of the bends which would otherwise lie in the same plane. In the form shown, two coils are provided each having terminal connections b, all the bends a being uniform and having a radius equal to the vertical pitch of the tubes.
