Abstract
An alloy suitable for hard facing purposes at relatively low temperatures has the following composition. .Si.2.5 - 5.5 per cent .B.0.75 - 5.25 per cent .Cr.4.0 - 9.5 per cent .Fe.1.0 - 5.0 per cent Ni the balance with traces of impurities such as Mn and P. The Fe content is always less than that of Cr and the sum of the Fe and Cr contents is not less than 5 per cent and not greater than 12 per cent. Specification 785,416 is referred to.
