Abstract

797,340. Portable containers; packaging. HAGEN, R., [trading as KAUTEX-WERK R. HAGEN]. March 13, 1957 [May 16, 1956], No. 8325/57. Classes 66 and 94(1). A plastics bottle or bag 10 with screw-threaded closure 11, after being filled and closed, is heatsealed as at 12 to reduce its volume. When filled with, for example, heated floor polish which shrinks after cooling, the " slack " of the package is taken up by this process. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), a flat zone adjacent the bottom seam is heat-sealed. The heatsealing may be effected by highfrequency welding, when the package is made from polyvinyl chloride ; markings may be applied to the heatsealed zone.
