Abstract

809,131. Two-part couplings. BELLING & LEE Ltd. Jan. 11, 1957 [Feb. 9, 1956], No. 4025/56. Class 38 (1). A plug comprises a metal sleeve 8 having a pin 9 integrally formed with one end thereof, said sleeve enclosing an insulating plate 4 carrying a further pin 5 and resting on a flange 10 on the sleeve. Pin 5 has connected.thereto the inner conductor 11 of a coaxial cable 14, the outer conductor 13 being connected to sleeve 5 by a collet 3, such as is described in Specification 679,410, compressed by a cover 1 screwing on to the sleeve. Fig. 8 shows another construction connected in this case to a parallel twin-cored cable 34. The metal sleeve 17 has a lateral lug 24 and slot forming a cable entry, the lug being crimped on to the cable sheath and having toothed edges which grip the cable. The conductors 30, 32 are connected respectively to a pin 22, integral with the sleeve, and a pin 19 carried by an insulating disc 18. The sleeve in this case is enclosed in a two-part insulating casing 16, 26 which screws thereon.
