821,430. Heat exchangers. DEDANSKE MEJERIES MASKINFABRIK A.m.b.A. Dec. 9, 1955 [Dec. 11, 1954; Oct. 13, 1955], No. 35515/55. Class 64(3) A heat exchanger plate separating two fluids is provided with two groups of parallel folds, the groups being superimposed and extending transversely of each other in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the plate respectively, the folds defining uninterrupted continuous grooves. extending in the direction of fluid flow over the plate. The plate form is stated to be such that the cross-sectional area of a fluid medium flowing between two such plates is substantially constant although the medium is divided in its flow between the plates into partial streams having waving movements both parallel to and transverse to the median planes of the plates. Figs. 9 to 11 show the successive changes of cross-sectional shape in the flow passage of substantially constant cross-sectional arta formed between a pair of plates 21, 22 folded or corrugated in the manner depicted in Fig. 6. Several other forms of plate fold are described.
