838,866. Shoe soles. LOMBARDO, P. Sept. 19, 1958, No. 30049/58. Class 17(2) The wear, surface of a shoe bottom is formed with two longitudinally extending sets 2, 3 of transverse ribs with one set 3 located at the centre part and surrounded by the other set 2, and the ribs are of tapered cross-section with the heightwise axis of the ribs of one set inclined to the normal in the opposite direction to the ribs of the other set. The sole is moulded from flexible rubber or plastic. The ribs of the outer set 2 are of approximately equal length. A smooth portion is provided at the heel tip 6 and toe tip 7. Each rib has one surface 4 normal to the length of the shoe bottom, and the other, 5, at an acute angle.
